Corolla numbers expanded - Toyota continues to work hard securing replacement parts for vehicles affected by the Takata airbag recall.
Toyota New Zealand has been advised that the number of new Corolla vehicles involved in the recall affecting the passenger side airbag has been expanded to an additional 11,063 vehicles.
The latest expansion raises the total number of vehicles affected in New Zealand to 102,217.
For New Zealand vehicles affected by the Takata airbag recall, more than 18% (19,000) of owners have been advised that replacement airbag parts are now available.
Based on the current parts supply, Toyota anticipates that more than 30 percent of owners will be contacted before the end of the year.
Toyota New Zealand is not aware of any faulty deployments in Toyota or Lexus vehicles associated with the global airbag recall.
