A crowd of young, Palmerston North fans were treated to some school holiday excitement when Olympic gold medal winner Valerie Adams stopped by the local Manawatu Toyota dealership today.
The new Toyota ambassador made time during her flying visit to enjoy a barbeque, have her photo taken with young fans and show them her gold medal.
Valerie said "It's great to spend time with fans from all over the country and talk to young people about following their dreams."
Toyota New Zealand General Manager of Marketing, Neeraj Lala, says the company is proud of what Valerie achieved in London and enjoyed spending time with her in Palmerston North.
"It was fantastic to introduce Valerie to our local community. She is not only a world and Olympic champion but is also an amazing role model for our young people."
Earlier in the day Valerie visited the Toyota National Customer Centre where Toyota staff members enjoyed her open and frank recount of her London experience.
Valerie was chosen to be a Toyota New Zealand Ambassador in July, and she received her gold medal, as well as a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, at a post-Olympic ceremony in Auckland last month.
