Avensis Adds More Refinement
More safety equipment, new refined interior upgrades and dynamic body styling are the main features of the Toyota Avensis wagon.
The practical European designed five-door is distinguished by its LED day-time running lights, piano black grille with chrome and shark fin antenna for an edgier look, with fifteen spoke 17 inch alloy wheels.
Two new exterior colours, Sunset Bronze and Tasman, complement the styling.
Toyota has added to the standard safety package on the Avensis with Pre-tensioners and force limiters added to the outer rear seat belts. Guidelines have been included with the reversing camera package.
Hill Start Assist Control, to prevent the Avensis rolling unintentionally while stopped on hills, is now standard, together with an Emergency Stop Signal.
In the cabin, fabric upholstery has made way for a high grade Alcantara and fabric combination. The door armrests and centre console box feature stitching detail.
Toyota has developed the two litre, four cylinder motor to meet the latest Euro6 emission regulations from the previous Euro5 standard. It produces 112 kWs and 196 Nm of torque on 91 octane fuel and has a combined fuel consumption of 6.4 litres/100 kms.
The engine is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission with the option of seven speed sequential manual and sport mode operation with paddle shifters.
The Avensis comes with seven air bags, Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control, ABS braking with Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Force Distribution for an increased level of safety.
Other standard features include an engine immobiliser with alarm and wireless remote central locking and an 8” full colour multi-function display audio unit. The 6 speaker sound system includes Bluetooth capability with a USB port and audio jack point.
The luggage area includes a tonneau cover and under floor storage. There is an adjustable track system which has four tie down hooks and the cargo capacity accommodates a generous 543 litres while the back seats are in use. Additional space is available when the 60:40 split seats are folded flat and roof rails can be used to extend the carrying capacity.
There is dual zone climate control, cruise control and a genuine leather covered steering wheel with chrome accents.
