As soon as you slide into the driver’s seat you realise just how much more comfortable the interior of the new Hilux is. The redesigned seat improves driver posture and the raised hip point ensures a greater field of view – great for when you’re putting the truck through its paces off-road.
You can adjust the seat a number of ways, and customise your seating position so it’s right for you. Add tilt and telescopic functions to the steering wheel*, and you can tell that the driver is definitely put first.
Keeping your drinks cool
The air con is another well thought-out feature. Standard across the range, the cup holders are positioned in front of the vent, so you can keep your drinks cool on those long summer drives. There’s also a vent in the glove box.
Power when you need it
A 220 volt, 110 watt power outlet is enough to charge up your power tools or run a laptop. Handy if your Hilux doubles as your work-space, and it's pretty useful when you take the family out camping too.
Overall, rear seat comfort has improved a lot – increasing both leg and head room. Then there’s the grab handles. They give passengers something to hold on to when the Hilux is doing what it does best. And it’s great for helping passengers get in and out.
Noise control
If you like a good yarn, you’ll be pleased to hear that the new Hilux has improved sound absorption and insulation. Noise vibration and harshness have been reduced significantly too. Plus the quieter engine means you can hear what rear passengers have to say without asking them to speak up.
Clever tech
Higher Hilux grades have Satellite Navigation – an essential these days – as well as SUNA, so you can avoid the traffic altogether when you’re in the big smoke.
