2019 Toyota Corolla Hatch tailgate wiring harness recall
Toyota New Zealand is recalling 93 vehicles due to a potential issue with the tailgate wiring harness. The model affected is the Toyota Corolla Hatch manufactured in December 2019.
This is a precautionary measure due to the potential that an oxide layer may develop in the wire harness connector and cause electrical resistance over time. This issue could increase the risk of the reverse lights, located on the tailgate, failing to operate.
The remedy will be completed free of charge by Toyota stores and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand through a remedy letter.
