The popular TOYOTA GAZOO RACING Festival is coming back on the 25 and 26 March 2023 with a full weekend of on and off-track activities scheduled at Cromwell’s Highlands Motorsport Park, registrations are now open.
The 2023 event marks the 10th Anniversary of the Toyota Festival, which quickly evolved from a Toyota 86 Owners Club and MR2 Owners Club day in 2013 to an open festival for all Toyota and Lexus owners and followers to take part in.
A highlight of the weekend will be the presence of the new GR performance range that will include the GR Supra, GR Yaris and recently launched GR86 as well as the all-new GR Corolla, the latest addition to the GR portfolio of high-performance cars that are built for pure driving pleasure.
General Manager for TOYOTA GAZOO RACING New Zealand Andrew Davis says the TOYOTA GAZOO RACING Festival is one of the best weekends of the year for any Toyota enthusiast and is not to be missed.
“At Toyota, we’re passionate about our brands and seeing customers simply having fun. The Festival gives owners the chance to bring their cars out to show, enjoy and share their passion with like-minded people and this year it will be really special to be able to showcase the growing range of GAZOO RACING sports cars. We encourage any Toyota and Lexus owner to come along for a track experience, show off their pride and joy or simply soak in the atmosphere of Toyota car heaven,” Andrew says.
Toyota enjoys putting on the Festival each year as a way to celebrate loyal fans and owners. There will be opportunities to take your Toyota onto the racetrack, to put your 4x4 Toyota through its paces on a five-hour Trek, or to exhibit stock and modified vehicles.
“After a brief hiatus from hosting the Festival, we’re excited to get everyone back out there for our 10th anniversary for adrenaline filled fun,” he says.
There certainly will be opportunities to have a good time. Two racetrack packages are available as well as the off-road Trek experience. Off the track there will be the traditional Show and Shine Competition for any Toyota or Lexus. There will also be free activities for spectators such as a GR86 Pitstop Challenge and TOYOTA GAZOO RACING simulators.
Andrew says whether you are participating in any track activities or not all Toyota and Lexus vehicles are also welcomed to participate in the Toyota Parade Lap led by the pace car.
“Even if you’ve just come to watch for the day here’s your chance to get on track! This is a slow cruise around the track where we stop on the main straight, line up all the cars and take our iconic annual Festival photo. The best part is that it’s FREE and you can take passengers with you.”
Attendance and parking are free to all spectators. However, registration for track events is a must as numbers are limited. To register, please visit: www.toyota.co.nz/toyota-festival/
