Through the support of Toyota New Zealand, Kiwi Olympic fans and local sports club members can tune into the Paris Olympics and get a chance to win sports equipment for their local club.

Toyota New Zealand will sponsor a comprehensive broadcast package on Sky TV for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The broadcast sponsorship, which is shared with 2degrees, will ensure New Zealanders can cheer on Kiwi athletes in action, with an extensive free-to-air package available on Sky Open on Freeview channel 15 from 25 July to 12 August.

In addition to the broadcast package, Toyota New Zealand is excited to partner with The Crowd Goes Wild on Sky Open to launch a community competition. Viewers will be able to nominate their local sports club to win a boot load of sports equipment. This initiative aims to support grassroots sports and encourage community engagement across New Zealand.

Susanne Hardy, Assistant Vice President, Toyota New Zealand, says Toyota is proud to partner with the New Zealand Olympic Committee to help kiwi athletes to compete on the international stage and now through this broadcast partnership, the marque wants to showcase their performance for all kiwis to follow along and enjoy.

"Through this broadcast package, Toyota New Zealand aims to uplift all athletes donning the silver fern with positive energy and celebrate their effort and accomplishments, fostering community spirit and engagement nationwide.

“We extend special support to our Toyota brand guardians competing at the Olympics, Dame Lisa Carrington, David Liti, Emma Twigg, and Olivia McTaggart, who exemplify our commitment to promoting active, healthy lifestyles. Another of Toyota New Zealand’s brand guardians, Dame Valerie Adams, two-time Olympic gold medallist shot putter is also participating in Paris 2024, this time as a Chairperson of the World Athletics Athlete’s Commission.

“Outside of tuning into the Olympics, we are really excited to get our community sports clubs involved by giving them the opportunity to win $14,000 worth of sports gear. Support for our local clubs is imperative to creating active lifestyles for our young Kiwis,” adds Susanne.

More than 3 million Kiwis tuned in for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and can do so again from 25 July to 12 August, Sky Open will broadcast a selection of live content from 7pm to 9am and replays during the day, featuring more than 200 Kiwi athletes as they compete on the world stage. With a convenient schedule tailored for New Zealand viewers, fans can stay updated on the performances of their favourite athletes.

Due to the time difference between Paris and New Zealand, viewers can enjoy prime-time broadcasts of the Olympics. Paris is 10 hours behind New Zealand, meaning that live events taking place in the afternoon and evening in Paris will be broadcast during the early morning and midday in New Zealand. This schedule allows fans to catch the excitement live before heading to work or school.

New Zealand Olympic fans can also learn more about the Kiwi Olympians competing in Paris from a range of videos and social media posts created by the New Zealand Olympic Committee. Search for @thenzteam on Instagram to find out more.
