The GR Fleet

The fleet on the day will include the GR Corolla, GR Supra, GR86, GR Yaris, Hilux GR Sport and the LC300 GR Sport.  You will have an opportunity to drive most of these vehicles throughout the day. All listed vehicles are dependent on availability.

Event Details and Information
What dates and locations are the GR Track Experience days?

Toyota New Zealand will organise and run four GR Track Day Experiences in 2025 on: 

  • Wednesday 15 January 2025 at Hampton Downs
  • Thursday 23 January 2025 at Manfeild
  • Wednesday 5 February 2025 at Highlands Motorsport Park
Who can attend this event?

Each event is open to any New Zealand resident who has a current full unrestricted New Zealand drivers’ licence and can drive a manual transmission vehicle (‘Eligible Entrant’ or 'you'). If you do not have a licence to drive a manual transmission vehicle, you are able to register and attend the event, but you will only be able to drive the six automatic transmission vehicles at the event.

Who is running and hosting the event?

Each event is organised and run by Toyota New Zealand, assisted by your local Toyota Dealers who will communicate with event entrants, confirm your registration prior to the event and host on the day. A team of skilled, professional, and experienced race car drivers and driver trainers will oversee and run the on-track activities.

How many people can take part in the day?

Hampton Downs and Highlands events have a maximum capacity of 24 drivers. Manfeild have a maximum capacity of 32 drivers.

What happens during the day?

A brief overview:

  • Registration and morning tea
  • Product presentation
  • Track activities
  • Lunch
  • Track activities including hot laps
  • Prizegiving and afternoon tea
How will I find out the event day information?

Your local Toyota Store will communicate with you prior to the event day with everything you need to know. Or email GR.Events@toyota.co.nz to contact Toyota New Zealand.

Am I allowed to bring my spouse/partner/children/friend as a spectator?

You can bring a guest(s) on the day if they are 16 years or older. Please let your local Toyota Store know before making payment and pay a fee of $129 (including GST) per guest which includes their catering.

 

What will my guest do during the event?

Guests can watch the track activity from the hospitality suite in the morning, they can take part in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing tour and will be able to have a hot lap with our professional driver team in the afternoon.

What type of clothing should I wear?

Clothing should be smart casual, warm and comfortable. Closed toe/covered shoes are required.

Am I required to bring anything?

Please ensure you have your current full unrestricted New Zealand drivers licence.

What catering is provided?

You will be provided with barista coffee, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. Cold refreshments will be available throughout the day. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you register.

Can I take photos on the day?

Yes, however not during track activities as there will be no phone use on the track. So you can fully enjoy the day we will have a professional photographer at each event and will provide you a link to all photos following the event. 

Do I need an event ticket to gain entry?

No ticket is required for entry. The TGR team will have a record of all registration entry fees paid and this will act as your ticket into the event.

 

 

Vehicles Information
Am I allowed to bring my own vehicle?

No, Toyota New Zealand will provide all Toyota GR vehicles, as we ensure they are track ready for you to enjoy on the day.

What vehicles will we be able to drive on the day?

The fleet will include the GR Corolla, GR Supra, GR Yaris, GR 86, Hilux GR Sport and LC300 GR Sport. You will have an opportunity to drive the majority of these vehicle throughout the day. All listed vehicles are dependent on availability.

Can I attend the event if I can’t drive a manual vehicle?

The majority of the GR Fleet are manual vehicles, if you cannot drive a manual you are limited to driving six vehicles only on the day.

 

 

Entry Confirmation, Payment and Cancellation
How much does it cost to enter the event?

$549 (including GST) per driver and $129 per guest (if applicable).

How do I secure my spot?

To secure your spot please contact your local Toyota Store to register and make payment.

What happens if the GR Track Day is postponed or cancelled?

A GR Experience Track Day event may be cancelled at the discretion of Toyota New Zealand for reasons including but not limited to safety, weather, track availability. Your local Toyota Store or Toyota New Zealand will contact you should this occur, and entry fees will be refunded, or you will be given first option of moving your spot to the postponement date.

What if I can no longer attend or need to cancel my registration?

If you can no longer attend an event, you must contact the Toyota Store you received communication from or contact Toyota New Zealand at GR.Events@toyota.co.nz. Once an entry fee has been paid it is non-refundable, at TNZ sole discretion.
