Tang Fastest in Final Testing for NZ Grand Prix
Championship leader Andrew Tang (pictured ahead of Ryan Tveter) has set fastest time in the three Toyota Racing Series test sessions today for the 59th New Zealand Grand Prix.
Running on fresh tyres in session two, he set a 1:03.248 on his final lap, edging out returning Grand Prix title holder Nick Cassidy who set a 1:03.315 in that session.
Fastest time in session one was set by Jann Mardenborough, 1:03.594. Mardenborough also set fastest time in the third session, a 1:03.266.
Returning champion Nick Cassidy was fifth, second and seventh fastest across the three sessions.
Levin Amweg and Ryan Tveter both crashed, Amweg in session two at Higgins corner and Tveter in session 3 at the long, multiple-apex Pepsi corner that leads onto the front straight.
Both cars sustained significant damage. Amweg sat out the third session with his crew working to repair the car in time for qualifying tomorrow.
