Lawson sets early pace around Manfeild
Castrol Toyota Racing Series leader Liam Lawson has set the early pace at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon today with the fastest lap time in practice across the day’s two test sessions.
Lawson set a time 01:03.815 late in the session, edging ahead of American driver Cameron Das who was just 0.066 behind. Austrian, Lucas Auer was a further 0.072 behind in third spot.
Lawson’s nearest championship rival, fellow Kiwi Marcus Armstrong elected to sit out practice one in favour of doing a longer 20 lap race simulation run in practice two.
Armstrong went on to set the fifth fastest time of the session with a 01:04.084, 0.269 adrift of Lawson. Action will resume tomorrow with a further three practice sessions before qualifying and racing get underway on Saturday.
