Bridgestone GR86 Championship winner Hugo Allan and rookie title winner Chris White are all set to get their first taste of GT4 power thanks to the Tony Quinn Foundation.

The two young guns will join Quinn himself for a round each in the Monochrome GT4 Australia Championship in Tony’s newly acquired GR Supra GT4 EVO 2. Tony will then decide which one moves forward to compete alongside him in further rounds.

Allan sealed the overall title with two stunning wins in the final two races of the championship, while White had done enough after Saturday’s first race to lock in the rookie title.

“These are two really great prospects in New Zealand racing,” explained Quinn – revealing the joint winners during live commentary of the gripping series finale at Taupo International Motorsport Park over the weekend.

“The Bridgestone GR86 Championship is a fantastic series and Toyota are a fantastic supporter of the sport in New Zealand.

“It’s obviously been a great championship for Hugo and Chris this season. They have thoroughly deserved the opportunity to try GT4 in Australia and I’m looking forward to competing with both drivers.”

Former racer Daniel Gaunt was one of the judges and said it was impossible to separate the two drivers and pick one overall winner, so judges decided to split the prize.

Hugo and Chris have both excelled this year with their on-track and off-track performances,” he said. “Each has delivered a stand-out performance in a massively competitive and closely fought championship.

“With Hugo and Chris winning the championship and rookie championship respectively, there’s obviously plenty of talent there and I’m excited to see how each performs in the GT4 Supra with TQ in Australia.

“And of course, as the Tony Quinn Foundation we look forward to supporting them in their future careers as well.”
