Another quality pairing confirmed for TR86 enduros
Another major driver pairing for the forthcoming two round TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand TR86 endurance championship has been confirmed.
Auckland-based driver and experienced TR86 competitor Connor Adam will team up with Pukekohe local and current NZ Formula Ford Champion Billy Frazer - who tested a Toyota 86 at Hampton Downs last Friday.
Billy is seen as a driver on the rise in single seater racing and he was a force to be reckoned with during the past season after his move from Formula First to the NZ Championship Formula Ford (1600) series.
The pairing will make for a very strong line up and both drivers are proven winners. Both are also graduates of the Motorsport NZ Elite Academy.
Both are looking forward to the endurance challenge. “I am really stoked to be partnering with Connor for the upcoming Toyota 86 Endurance series," he said. "It will be great experience for me and I am looking forward to racing a car with doors and a roof for the first time. Connor's experience in the series will be invaluable to me and am really looking forward to getting out on track.”
Adam added: "Pairing up with Billy will make us strong contenders and he had a great past season so again I'm really excited to move into this with him as my team mate and co-driver.”
The Toyota 86 Endurance Championship will be run at Hampton Downs over the weekend of 30-31 October and at Pukekohe on 4 – 6 December and will comprise two one-hour races across each race weekend.
The endurance championship offers a significant prize fund based on a minimum 10 car grid with the winners receiving $10,000 towards their 2021 Best Bars Toyota 86 Championship registration plus a prize draw of $5,000 for one lucky team - also to go towards their championship registration.
